(Master Degree)

Tri-State College of Acupuncture

New York City, New York, United States

Course format: Classroom

The 3-year Master of Science degree program in Acupuncture prepares students to practice as independent acupuncture providers. The program provides extensive hands-on training in multiple styles of acupuncture within the context of a well-rounded education in classical Chinese medicine. Graduates are thoroughly prepared for the NCCAOM national board examinations and are eligible for licensure in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and many other states.

The hands-on, experience-based MS/Ac program is designed to build strong clinical skills. Students begin clinical training in the first weeks of class, putting theory into practice immediately. Students study with experienced acupuncturists, and train in three styles of acupuncture: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (including APM trigger point dry-needling techniques), and Japanese Acupuncture. Our program has its roots in Classical acupuncture, so students will find that there is an emphasis on the meridian perspective and the use of palpation for both diagnosis and treatment. The clinical curriculum also includes training in complementary modalities such as AOM bodywork therapy, qi gong, moxibustion, cupping, and gua sha. ...
