AACC&,#146,s Mental Health First Aid training consists of a single, 12-hour, noncredit course that provides an overview of mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders. Students learn strategies to use in a mental health crisis, including a five-step action plan and how to connect individuals with professional, peer, social and self-help care. The training is approved by Mental Health First Aid USA.

Upon successful completion students will earn an AACC continuing education certificate and a Mental Health First Aider certificate. 100 percent attendance and 75 percent on Mental Health First Aider assessment is required to earn a continuing education certificate. ...
