Bucket trucks are used primarily by Hydro crews, but are employed for other purposes by such groups as parks and forestry staff. Unfortunately most people who use these pieces of equipment do not realize the potential for tipping when operating on uneven ground or for running into things such as hydro lines or other overhead obstacles. They also forget that Fall Arrest training is mandatory for all operators. Thus it is vital that all staff who have a need to use this type of vehicle receive the proper training on it before climbing aboard. Articulated Trucks

Course Format: On-Site / In-House / Private Tutoring
School/Trainer: Ground Force Training
Training Center(s)/Venue(s): Buffalo, United States
  V

These behemoths are known for their tremendous capability to move large, heavy loads over very rough terrain. They are also known for the dangers associated with their many blind spots and ability to tip arising from their high centre of gravity. The fact that they may be articulated makes them easy to manoeuvre in tight quarters but also adds to the complexity of their operation, particularly when backing up. These big toys were fun to play with as a child in our sand boxes but dangerous to operate in the real world without the proper training.

Who Should Attend

Any person responsible for operating an articulated truck.
