Business Spanish

This course exposes students to the Spanish language used in business, including the terminology and idioms of Spanish business language in special oral and written communication. Emphasis is placed on the structure and content of Spanish business correspondence. Authentic materials are used to give students a contemporary view of business as it is conducted in Hispanic society.

Spanish Conversation

This course is designed to strengthen and improve oral skills in the language. Oral activities focus on current events, cultural, historical and social issues. Audio-visual media are used to explore Hispanic life and society.


English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL or ESL) courses are offered to provide academic English skills to students whose first or native language is other than English.

Besides preparing students for the college learning experience in the areas of oral communication, reading, writing and grammar, these courses teach students the skills needed to meet the requirements of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI, formerly TASP).

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) (Certificate)

The Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) certificate program is designed to qualify students in the gas metal welding processes on either plate or pipe in accordance to the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Petroleum Institute (API) welding procedures. These courses can be offered concurrently as CEU courses.

Electronics Technology (Associate Degree)

The Electronics Technology Program at Mountain View College (MVC) prepares students as entry level electronic technicians. Students enrolled in the program have a variety of program options including networking (Microsoft or Cisco), computer maintenance and repair, and industrial electronics.

Facilities and Faculty
The Electronics Technology Program has two state of the art electronic labs. One lab is primarily for industrial electronics while the other is a general purpose lab. The general purpose lab has been updated with all new equipment.

Criminal Justice (Certificate)

This certificate is attached to the Associates in Applied Sciences Degree in Criminal Justice and the transfer Field of Study degree in Criminal Justice. It is designed for students who would like exposure to the basic elements of the criminal justice system but who also have the intent of transferring to a Baccalaureate degree-granting institution.
