We offer a pay as you go plan, start off with the $99.95 Introductory Flight Special with two, one-hour flights and instruction. Then, many students continue with weekly or bi-weekly lessons paying as they go or putting money up-front into their flying club account. Private Pilot Ground School

Our class is &,quot,perpetual&,quot, meaning once you paid the tuition you can attend future session of ground school without paying the tuition again. This is beneficial in case for any reason you do not finish or want to refresh your knowledge. We hold hold a new ground school session 4 times a year.

We use the Jeppesen Private Pilot Manual for our classes. You can find the required reading chapters for each class, from both texts, on our schedule of classes.

Miramar College maintains a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 147-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician Program that leads to an FAA Mechanic’s Certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant Rating. This program is structured to allow the student majoring in Airframe and Powerplant to complete the required minimum of 1900 hours of instruction in five semesters. Each student is required to complete the minimum hours of instruction to qualify for these ratings. Students completing the Airframe and/or Powerplant program will be qualified to take the examinations given by the FAA. To obtain a Mechanic&,#146,s Certificate an Airframe and/or Powerplant Ratings, arrangements are made with the local FAA District Office to take the appropriate written examinations followed by the appropriate oral/practical examinations.
